SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE: NAPPY RUN PROJECT AND BAMBANANI WELLINGTON

Const Wildschut is the social crime prevention official in the Wellington policing precinct.  As social crime prevention officer, crime prevention projects must be initiated in the area.  Const Wildschut is planning a nappy-run on 7 November 2012.  The event is to raise awareness for the disabled and the O K B rugby field in Wellington will be used for this purpose.

The project will work as follows: -the members will enter with a disposable nappy as entry fee. -these nappies will be donated to a organization who take care of disabled children. -the station will have a gathering with the members afterwards (bambanani). We would appreciate a donation of 200 bottles of bottled water to enjoy.

16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM- STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMAN AND CHILDREN AWARENESS CAMPAIGN: FUN WALK / RUN- 10 DECEMBER 2012 09:00 ANTIONIESVLEI, WELLINGTON

On 2012-12-10 at 09:00 SAPS Bellville Railway and SAPS Wellington will be hosting a 16 Days of Activism - Stop Violence against Woman and Children awareness campaign. Cst. YL Wildschut of Social Crime Prevention of SAPS Wellington will be a keynote speaker and the event will be broadcast on the Radio KC morning time slot.

It will be an integrated approach with internal and external role players in the form of a Fun walk / run, which will start at Horseshoe street and end at Antoniesvlei, Bovlei street, Wellington.

The aim of this Fun walk / Run is to encourage maximum participation of employees of SAPS, the Navy, Correctional Service, Law Enforcement, Metro Police and community in order to providing change to the destiny of destroyed families and children in need.

The teams of 6 persons must donate R90 per team to the 10 km fun walk and adults must donate R15 per person for the 10km fun walk / run. The adults must donate R15 per person and scholars must donate R5 per person for the 5km fun walk / run. The top 3 teams and winners will receive medals and all other participants will receive certificates.

All proceeds will go to a Non Government Organization BADISA , which is registered as a non-profit organization (NPO 011-891) and as a public welfare organization (PBO 930 006 348).BADISA is a church-based social services organization, which provides services in the Western-, Northern- and Eastern Cape, focused on the care, social development and treatment of indigent and vulnerable people of all ages, race, sexuality and religion.

The handing over ceremony of the prizes and donations will be held during the event at Antoniesvlei resort, Bovlei road, Wellington to a representative of BADISA.
